Sometimes you may be required to re-program the remote call send units for your Acorn / Brooks Superglide Stairlift

The re-programming of the hand held remote call send units is very straight forward and can be completed in less than a minute. See the simple video tutorial below

Step1 Run the stairlift to the very bottom of the rail track

Step2 Swivel the chair seat IE position for dismount if the stairlift was at the top of the stairs. The LED segment display should be flashing code E5

With the seat swivelled press the chair arm toggle paddle switch in the down direction (The stairlift will not move since it’s already at the bottom of the stairs / track

Step3 Point the remote hand call send unit at the Stairlift and press the down button on the remote hand held call send unit. An audible bleep should be heard if the remote requires re-programming

Return the chair seat to its original travelling position and test the hand held call send unit for correct operation

Repeat the above steps if both hand held remotes require reprogramming

The Stairlift video clip below demonstrates the Acorn Superglide 120 powered hinge rail. Hinge rails are required if the track rail will overhang a doorway causing a trip hazard

There are two types of hinge rails to choose from! Manual hinge rail and powered motorised hinge rail. Obviously the manual hinge rail is operated manually IE one has to lift and fold the hinge rail upright or place it in the down position

Powered hinge rails are operated from a set of hardwired control buttons located at the top and bottom of the stairs. Simply press the up or down direction button to operate the powered hinge

The cost price of a stairlift will increase considerably if you choose to have a powered hinge rail obviously the manual version is cheaper but still the price will be more than a standard stairlift without a hinge rail
