There are a number of different types of Stairlifts available
the layout design of your staircase will determine which type
of Stairlift you require. What might seem obvious to the experienced
person is not so obvious to the new buyer.
A lot of people assume a standard straight
Stairlift fits all so to speak. Sadly this is not the case! Straight
Stairlifts are designed solely for straight staircases and realistically
cannot be installed on a curved staircase
Not only are the designs different but the
price difference from buying a straight Stairlift opposed to purchasing
a curved Stairlift is huge. Example! New straight Stairlift £1200-1800
New curved Stairlift prices £4000-6000 as you can see from
our examples there is a huge price increase if one requires a
curved unit.
Curved Stairlifts are expensive due to their
bespoke rail design! Each rail is custom made for each staircase.
The more complex your staircase requires more custom radius's
(bends) pushing the price up even further.
As well as Straight and Curved Stairlifts
there are Standing Stairlifts (Perch Stairlifts) Outside Stairlifts
for outdoor use. All can be purchased in the Straight or curved
range. Below are some examples of straight and curved stairlifts
to give you a feel idea of what to expect.
